4 Easy Steps to Purchasing a Tree(s)
Step 2: Meet our minimum space requirements
Trees require space above and below ground. Without this growing room, trees are hindered in their ability to absorb nutrients and water.
Paving, overhead wires and underground utilities are all factors that need to be accounted for before planting. Interference with other trees, compacted soil, and cramped areas can distress trees, leaving them more susceptible to disease and pests.
The planting site should meet the following minimum space requirements:

* TSP staff will assess this measurement during the complementary site visit. Homeowners are not required to assess distances to utilities.
NOTE: During the process of requesting a tree, the TSP will arrange to have local utilities (gas, hydro, communications, water) perform a utility locate on your property in order to ensure proper space requirements are available for a tree. There is no charge to the homeowner for this service.
