Wild Heart Farm.

Wild Heart Farms grows cut flowers for weddings and events, provides garden based workshops and retreats in addition to collecting and selling native wildflower and grass seed. The latter is how I met the owner Kate Watters, buying seed for a riparian restoration project. Kate and her partner were interested in property stewardship and we began by pruning hazardous deadwood and removing a large hazardous Velvet Ash, Fraxinus volutina , on her property and utilizing the mulch for her gardens and orchards in addition to milling the bole for slabs to build furniture with.

Kate and Mike’s farm, is an excellent model of responsible property stewardship! We have found much joy in assisting them and furthering their vision. Its truly amazing how much they are doing with less than one acre!

"When we became stewards of a one-acre riparian forest we had no idea how to properly care for and maintain the giant trees. Phillip's expertise was extremely helpful to prioritize the hazards, and create a plan to prune a variety of tree species over several years. He spent an entire day examining each tree and the detailed plan he created guides us so we can encourage a healthy environment for the trees. When we had to remove a tree he connected us with the right arborists and people who could help salvage the wood to make furniture."
